Hittle Construction Inc. will warranty all projects to be free of defects in materials for a period of 30 days from completion. Material defects include missing or loose knots, crooked lumber, excessive warpage, and large splits. The warranty does not cover checking of the wood (a check is a small surface crack that does not affect the structural integrity of the material). If a material defect occurs during this period and is not due to external forces, the original purchaser shall be entitled to receive repair and/or replacement of the defective materials at no additional charge within this warranty period.
The craftsmanship of our work and the structural stability of our decks are warranted for a period of 12 months against sagging, shifting, or otherwise settling due to materials failure or improper installation of materials. This warranty is valid from the date of completion for a period of 12 months. It is for the original purchaser only and is not transferable. The warranty covers the structure of the deck, from the surface of the ground up to but not including the floor decking. Some shrinkage of floor decking is normal. This warranty does not cover sagging, shifting, or settling caused by excessive loads (such as hot tubs) or objects placed on the deck that were not specifically designed into the deck. The warranty also does not cover cosmetic imperfections, damage caused by external forces (such as settling ground, foundation repair, etc.), or damage caused by forces of nature.
